ABOUT APT Taekwondo
Combining traditional Taekwondo training with physical training, our unique and innovative program provides a healthy outlet for students to learn how to find a balance in their lives while improving their physical and mental states. In our program, students will work on physical training while merging aspects of martial arts training that focus on the awareness of self. Through this practice, students will find that they are better able to focus on the given moment and to filter out the extraneous thoughts and inputs going on around them. This translates to them being able to make faster decisions in their sport and filter out negative or doubtful thoughts about their perceived performance.

Head Instructor Jon Caron
Instructor and owner Mr. Caron holds a 4th degree black belt in Taekwondo and has a wide ranges of instructional experience teaching students from age ranges as young as 3 years old up to ages 70 and older. He started his training in 2008 with his young children and discovered a love for the art. His training in Taekwondo was rooted in the traditional methodologies and values from South Korea from his Grand Master Sang H. Kim who brought the traditional art, including techniques passed down from his family, to the United States. Mr. Caron's goals are to expand the sharing of his knowledge of the art to areas outside of the traditional dojang to bring the benefits of training to more people in unique ways.
"These days, the traditional teaching methodologies of martial arts are harder to find in a school. They have given way to society's current culture that is becoming increasingly confrontational. You can see this is the continuing rise of popularity of mixed martial arts where the focus is mostly on fighting and the mindfulness aspect is fading away. While it is our job as instructors to teach people how to defend themselves, what is more important is to help people in their mental health through the methodologies that traditional training brings to the practitioner. Indeed, the best black belt is one who nobody else knows is a black belt." - Jon Caron
